When and Why do you start downhill? When ? At the summer 2004, after a World Cup at Mont Ste-Anne. It seemed a fun sport, with challenge and danger ! I tried and loved it! So, I bought a bike and practiced everytime I can. The summer after, I tried my first race and won it!
What is you most favorite thing in downhill? High speed section (very fast without brakes!),Drops,Jumps,Sam Hill (hihi!) Have ever thought hate downhill before? When?
I’ve never tough something like that! It’s sure that I don’t like to get injured, but it is part of the sport and playing with risk is fun! If a day, I begin HATING DH...I will stop it for sure! When I visit Quebec I felt Quebec rider likes "race" more than the other Canadian rider, do you like race? If so, what is the appeal of race for you? I think that Quebec’s riders like races because we can try other spots to ride. It becomes boring to always ride Ste-Anne and Bromont! It’s not like in BC, where it’s better to ride Whistler for fun than come to Quebec to race and ride rocky mountains...So, racing is the solution to ride other places that are not open for DH. Also, races are like a big party where all the MTB community can meet to have fun together... Finally, I personnaly race to see the results of my efforts, to transcend my limits and to win! It’s a passion and the thing that can make me proud of myself. I also like to travel around the Province and the country and meat new people.
What is your MTB goals? It is sure that I dream of being on the Canadian National team and to do a World Championship. But I’m 26, I will finish my study and find a good job and I will not have a lot of spare times to train hard. What I did this summer was unexpectable for me! Next goal? To do the same next year and get a better results at the World Cup... I’d like to become as fast as MIO... YA !!! What is your favorite or interesting thing except MTB. Hum! Eating!!! I also like a lot of other sports : snowboarding, hiking, snowshoes and cross-country running. I like what I study, I like my 2 jobs, I like trying new things, I like hanging out with friends, I like to travel, I like to listen punk music, I like to dance, I like to watch movies, I like to draw designs for helmets, I like pink color, and ’I LOVE LIFE!’
What do you do normally? I go to University to finish my master in education. I also have two part time jobs : One as a school counselor and the other as a human ressources director for a small company that hires interns who want to practice before finding their job. And in the week-end, I do DH ! Except that, I try to find time to do party, go to cinema, train and pet my 2 cats! How do you balancing work and MTB(including race)? Last summer, it was easy, because I had a part time job during the week. During winter, I cannot do bike! So I work hard and study to have some hollidays during summer. Next summer, I don’t know yet what I will do... But, if I work, It will be during the week and the races are in the week-end. If I have to travel, I will ask for hollidays! Do you do any training for MTB? Not really but I should! Last winter, I did snowboard and hiking. Before the race season, I did Cross-Country running. I was able to do 8-10 kilometers, 3 times per week. But I loose motivation in July and stopped everything. This winter, I will probably do hiking, snowboard and spinning. For the moment, I’m too busy to train! ![]()

When and Why do you start downhill? I started downhill 3 years ago because I always want it do to downhill since I was young. Before that, I did cross-country races for 7 years. I liked cross-country but I needed more challenge and more trill.
What is you most favorite thing in downhill? My most favorite thing in downhill is the feeling you've got when you are rinding. You try to go faster and faster each time and the feeling of the adrenaline getting higher. You want to recreate this feeling every time you are riding, it's and addiction! Have ever thought hate downhill before? When?
No, I always wanted to do downhill! When I visit Quebec I felt Quebec rider likes "race" more than the other Canadian rider, do you like race? If so, what is the appeal of race for you? I don't feel like I'm in competition with the other girls, It's kind of a challenge for myself. Each time I'm tring to reach a better time and learn more about this crazy sport! This a new for me and I'm still young so I have lots of time and opportunities to perfect my skills and enjoying my favorite sport! What is your MTB goals? My first goal is to enjoy riding and have lots of fun! For the moment, I would say that I want to be a better rider, every year I can see a huge difference in the way I ride.
What is your favorite or interesting thing except MTB. I really like skiing and snowboarding during the winter! These are my favorite hobbies. I like to travel a lot and trainning is something that I do every day and I enjoy it! What do you do normally? For the moment, I'm a student at the University of Montreal. I'm doing a major in kinesiology and I'm planning to do a master in ergotherapy or nutrition. I'm also working in a vet clinic as a part time job. How do you balancing study/work and MTB(including race)? It's pretty easy in my case, most of my classes are in the gym and have a full access to it. I can easilly fit school and trainning together. Mtb is a big part of my life since I was young so I kind of integrate mtb to my everyday routine! I'm trying to do as much as I can, when I have a moment I'm on my road, coss-country or downhill bike! Do you do any training for MTB? Yes, it is my work to make sure that people are in good shapes and are trainning well. I have to be a good example and it's something that I really like. During the winter I'm trainning in a gym and I do road bike on my trainer, jogging and some relaxing exercices. During te summer I do all kind of bike outside and jogging but mostly downhill. |
